Geology
Our team is looking for a dedicated Geology Technician to assist in the collection and processing of geological samples. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of timely and accurate data for subsequent analysis by geologists.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Meter marking, photographing, cutting, and sample collection of diamond core in a timely manner and in line with core processing priorities.
* Including appropriate QAQC samples in all submissions.
* Completing sample submissions in a timely manner with no errors.
* Transporting samples to the offsite laboratory.
* Storing and accurately cataloguing diamond core in the core farm in line with procedure.
* Assisting in maintaining pulp and core library catalogues across site.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A current 'C' Class Western Australian Driver's Licence.
* Preferred - A current approved and recognised forklift ticket.
* Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft office products.
* Good communication skills, written and verbal.
* Strong attention to detail, ability to plan daily activities and meet deadlines.
* Able to work unsupervised as required.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
* Mechanical knowledge and skills (desirable).
* 4WD operation and recovery skills (desirable).
