About the role
This is a full-time Sous Chef / Chef role at the acclaimed Copper bar and grill restaurant in South Townsville, QLD. As a key member of the kitchen team, your role will involve the preparation and service of high-quality, creative dishes to delight our customers. What you'll be doing
1. Responsible for menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation
2. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure consistent high standards of food quality and presentation
3. Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
4. Ensure adherence to all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations
5. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
6. Participate in developing and implementing new menu items and specials
7. Assist with stock control and ordering of kitchen supplies
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 1 year experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in a similar high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment
2. Strong technical cooking skills and knowledge of various cuisine styles and preparation methods
3. Excellent time management, multitasking and problem-solving abilities
4. Proven track record of leading and developing kitchen teams
5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards
6. Passion for creating innovative, delicious dishes and an interest in food trends
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
