Job Description
Terra Mining Pty Ltd (Terra Mining) is a dynamic leader in Western Australia's mining sector, rapidly expanding its portfolio of projects across the region. As Terra Mining continues to grow, our operations are seeking experienced Drillers to join the Drill & Blast Department on a full‐time basis in the Kalgoorlie, Goldfields region. This is a full‐time contract including living and working in the Goldfields DAMA region.
Position Description
We are seeking a dedicated Driller to join our team on a full‐time basis. In this role you will be responsible for safely operating blast‐hole drilling rigs at the Extension Hill Mine site, meeting drilling pattern requirements, supporting the Drill & Blast team, and contributing to production targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up, move, and operate blast‐hole drilling rigs to the drill pattern, depth, and location specified by the Drill & Blast Supervisor.
* Conduct pre‐start, operational, and post‐shift checks on equipment, and report or initiate maintenance as required.
* Monitor drill rig performance, including bit wear, rod condition, fluid levels, and drilling parameters, and log data accurately.
* Ensure hole quality (location, depth, alignment, size) meets the drill plan and blasting requirements.
* Collaborate with Drill & Blast crew, geologists, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate drilling works.
* Comply with all site safety, environmental, and operational procedures (including hazard identification, incident reporting, and safe work practices).
* Maintain housekeeping of machine and work area, including consumables (bits, tubes, rods) and accurate documentation of drilling records.
* Take initiative to identify opportunities to improve drilling efficiency, machine utilisation, and safety outcomes.
About You
* Proven experience operating blast‐hole drilling rigs in open‐cut hard‐rock mining.
* Strong understanding of drilling processes, drill patterns, and blast preparation.
* Competent machine operator with attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and drill plan requirements.
* Sound safety awareness and compliance with mining site regulations.
* Valid Australian driver's licence and full working rights.
* Ability to pass pre‐employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening, and current National Police Clearance.
Salary
As successful candidate, you will be paid a salary of $180,456 (excluding superannuation).
