Our specialist surgeons are supported by a dedicated team of specialist medical, pain and rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, nursing and administration staff, allowing the delivery of high quality clinical outcomes and service to patients in need of neuro‐spinal care.

Role & Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive medical care to patients throughout their perioperative journey, from preoperative assessment and optimisation to postoperative care and follow‐up.
* Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations, including medical history assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to ensure patient readiness for surgery.
* Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised perioperative care plans.
* Manage perioperative medical issues, including chronic conditions, medications, and postoperative complications, in collaboration with the healthcare team.
* Ensure the timely and accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
* Provide patient education and counselling on perioperative expectations, risks, and recovery processes.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance perioperative care delivery and patient outcomes.
* Contribute to the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Requirements

* Medical degree from a recognised institution.
* Current registration with AHPRA as a General & Perioperative Physician.
* Fellowship with the Australian College of Physicians (FRACP).
* Current rights to work in Australia (Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent resident).
* Extensive experience in perioperative medicine, including preoperative assessments, medical optimisation, and postoperative care.
* Strong clinical knowledge and proficiency in managing a wide range of medical conditions and comorbidities.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and patients.
* Commitment to patient‐centred care, evidence‐based practice, and continuous professional development.
* Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast‐paced environment, prioritising patient safety and optimal outcomes.
