We are seeking an exceptional National Head of Accounts to join our leadership team in Canberra. About the Role
Based in Canberra, this office-based national leadership role oversees the Accounts function across the multi state business. You will lead financial operations, strengthen controls, and deliver consistent, high-quality financial performance across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead national financial operations including accounting, reporting, BAS and taxation obligations
* Develop and enhance financial policies, procedures and internal controls
* Coach and lead the Accounts team to build capability and performance
* Partner with senior leaders to set KPIs and drive financial accountability
* Provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions
* Manage relationships with auditors, banks and external partners
* Ensure consistent financial governance and service delivery nationally
* Drive system improvements and operational efficiencies
About You
You are a strategic finance leader who combines technical strength with strong people leadership and commercial thinking.
You will bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
* CA, CPA or NIA qualification
* Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation (GST, FBT, income tax, CGT)
* 5+ years in a senior accounting, finance manager or financial controller role
* Proven experience leading teams and complex financial operations
* Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Advanced Microsoft Excel capability
* Facilities ,property or construction sector experience (desirable)
* Interest in AI and automation within financial processes (highly regarded)
