SQL Engineer & Database Administrator
to join our technology team. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional who thrives in managing and developing enterprise-grade SQL Server environments and enjoys solving complex data and performance challenges in production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support
MS SQL Server on-premises environments (SQL Server **** onwards)
Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using
T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve
production data issues
efficiently and accurately
Lead and contribute to
database architecture, design, and implementation
initiatives
Manage
database backup and recovery strategies
, including native SQL backups and enterprise solutions (e.g. Dell Networker)
Develop, maintain, and support
SSIS and SSRS
solutions
Implement and support
automation
using tools such as
PowerShell and Python
Contribute to
database DevOps practices
, including CI/CD, version control, and deployment automation
Ensure database performance, security, reliability, and scalability meet business requirements
Designing and developing advanced
stored procedures, queries, tables, views, triggers, and database objects
within Microsoft SQL Server
Managing and maintaining the
Microsoft SQL Server environment
, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance
Working with
SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
to support analytical and multidimensional data models
Building and maintaining
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
solutions and dashboards
Developing and optimising
SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
packages for ETL workflows and data integrations
Key Capabilities & Experience Essential
Extensive hands-on experience with
MS SQL Server on-prem administration *****+)
Extensive experience in
database development
(T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions)
Strong experience troubleshooting and resolving
data and performance issues in production
Proven expertise in
database architecture and design
Extensive experience with
backup and recovery strategies
