Overview
Engineering Lead role at Raytheon Australia. Location: Garden Island NSW, 83 Cowper Wharf Roadway, Building 328, Potts Point, NSW, 2011, Australia. This is a full-time position that leads a team across systems, hardware, software, and logistics design to deliver and implement changes to the Combat System for the Hobart Class DDG Destroyers. The role involves working from concept to delivery and coordinating with the DDG System Project Office and Ship Staff on site.
Responsibilities
* Plan and manage projects that span the entire systems engineering lifecycle, in close cooperation with the peer Project Manager.
* Develop integrated master plans and schedules.
* Develop organisational structures and allocate team members to tasks.
* Monitor technical performance against plan and take corrective action when required.
* Identify risks and opportunities and report accurately and timely to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
* Liaise with Subject Matter Experts within the CSSA and Raytheon's functional leads.
* Develop and deliver presentation material for regular stakeholder meetings and major status reviews.
* Share expertise and lessons learned with peers and provide mentoring and career development advice to team members.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
* 5+ years of experience leading a multidisciplinary technical team.
* Demonstrable experience in one or more Systems Engineering lifecycle elements such as Requirements Development, Design Definition, Design Development, Integration and Verification.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills.
* Experience applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
* Experience in a Defence-related industry is highly desirable.
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an NV-1 Security clearance as needed (eligibility at Defence Australia site).
