Lawyer or Senior Associate – Cyber, Data & Technology

We are partnering with a top‐tier cyber, privacy and technology practice to recruit a talented Lawyer or Senior Associate to join a team that advises on some of the most complex and high‐impact cyber incidents in Australia and internationally.
You will work closely with two highly respected leaders in the cyber legal space:
* The head of the cyber, data and technology group, recognised for handling some of the most significant and widely publicised cyber incidents in the country.
* A partner with deep international cyber breach response experience, advising across multiple jurisdictions including Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Mauritius, Lesotho, the UK and Europe (GDPR environments).
This role offers rare exposure to frontline incident response, complex breach management and high‐stakes advisory work.
The Role
As part of this specialist cyber team, you will:
* Provide legal support during live cyber incidents, including ransomware, data exfiltration and business email compromise
* Assist with privacy and regulatory notifications, stakeholder communication and engagement with authorities
* Advise on cyber insurance coverage, disputes and wording
* Support complex investigations and multi‐jurisdictional matters
* Contribute to the development of incident response plans, client training and proactive risk mitigation
* Work closely with experienced senior practitioners on some of the highest‐profile cyber events in the region
About You
We are seeking a Lawyer or Senior Associate (approx. 3–8 PQE, flexible) with:
* Experience in cyber, privacy, insurance or related commercial litigation
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, particularly under time pressure
* A client‐focused mindset and excellent communication skills
* The ability to manage competing demands during active incident response
* An interest in developing expertise at the cutting edge of cyber and privacy law
