CPA is seeking a dedicated security professional or experienced individual to join our team in Mackay as 2IC/Supervisor Support at the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT).
Reporting to the onsite Maritime Security Supervisor and Operations Coordinator, the 2IC/Supervisor Support will play a key role in:
- Overseeing daily operations and team performance
- Ensuring contract viability and compliance with KPIs
- Delivering best-practice outcomes in personal and team performance
- Supporting the achievement of CPA’s mission and values
Roster: Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (This may vary depending on the clients requirements).

Key Responsibilities
- As 2IC/Supervisor Support person at DBCT you are to understudy and support the Maritime Security Supervisor DBCT in executing their responsibilities by developing a sound knowledge of the below major responsibilities.
- Develop, recommend and implement a strategic operational plan for all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure the adherence to budgets, policies, procedures, OH&S; and QA
- Ensure contractual KPI’s are met.
- Ensure services are delivered in an productive and professional manner.
- Oversee the administrative functions of the team.
- Allocation and Supervision of projects/tasks/services/training courses to team members where applicable
- Ensure staff are efficient and deliver effective and relevant services to clients and staff.
- Conduct Drug and Alcohol Testing
- Liaise with DBCT PFSO and other relevant clients to ensure continual understanding of contract KPI’s and obligations.
- Ensure all administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure staff roster is forecasted and uploaded to the appropriate area at least 1 month in advance.
- Complete all necessary periodical reports as required by the Company or the Client
- Coach, guide, counsel and mentor staff.
- Conduct Performance appraisals on staff.
- Conduct internal audits on staff qualifications on a monthly basis.
Qualifications & Requirements

- Current QLD Security Officer’s License Class 1 (Unarmed, Monitoring)
- Current Unrestricted QLD Driver’s License
- Certificate II in Security Operations
- Maritime Security Guard (MSG) Course - To be completed prior to first shift
- Maritime Security Identification Card
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation refreshed annually as per national guidelines
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid refreshed every 3 years as per national guidelines
- Safely Access the railway corridor (SARC)
- Drug and Alcohol Tester HLTPAT005
- Communication & Interaction Skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of computer systems.
- Proof of working rights in Australia (Passport, Visa, or Birth Certificate).
Highly Desirable:
- Certificate III in Security Operations
- Current QLD Security Officer’s License Class 1 (Crowd Control)
