This new role offers a rare prospect to shape how analytics is developed and embedded across the Library. You'll lead the design and delivery of reporting capabilities that turn raw data into strategic insights - informing decisions around collections, services, research performance, and future innovation.
Working closely with the Manager, Research Services and a dynamic team of library professionals, you'll track trends, evaluate performance, and help us continuously enhance how we support students, researchers, and the wider university community.
This is your chance to make a real impact, where your analytical skills will power smarter decisions, better services, and bold new ideas.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Analyse usage, cost, and performance data to inform decisions on the acquisition, renewal, or cancellation of Library resources, ensuring value and impact.
- Perform regular and ad-hoc data collection, analysis, and benchmarking across strategic research areas to provide insights into research impact and inform the ongoing evaluation and development of library services and performance.
- Create impactful reports, visualisations, presentations, and discussion papers that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a range of audiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate access to data and information essential for analysis and reporting.
- Develop and implement data management practices that enhance the organisation, accessibility, and reusability of data across the Library.
**We are looking for**:
- Experience in collecting, manipulating, and analysing data using both quantitative and qualitative methods, with strong analytical and diagnostic skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Experience using relational database systems and query tools to extract, analyse, and present data effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, accessible reports and visualisations tailored to diverse audiences.
- Proven project coordination and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
