We are seeking an experienced
Machine Tool Fitter
to join our team and ensure the ongoing performance, reliability, and safety of our CNC and manual machining equipment.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Machine Tool Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Technician in a CNC/manual machining environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills in fitting, troubleshooting, and repair of precision machine tools.
Knowledge of CNC machine components, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems is desirable.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in fitting, machining or mechanical maintenance will be highly regarded.
Willingness to work in a dynamic workshop environment and adapt to changing priorities.
A commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance
, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNC, in-situ machining tools (line boring & portable CNC) and manual machine tools – lathes, mills, borers, wire EDM, laser cladding, knife cutting, welding, compressors and general workshop equipment.
Carry out mechanical fitting tasks
on machine components including spindles, bearings, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Perform machine alignments
, calibrations, and adjustments to maintain accuracy and precision to engineering specifications.
Work closely with operators, and workshop managers
to minimize downtime and maximize machine uptime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records
, complete compliance and service paperwork.
Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures
and quality standards on all maintenance activities.
Support installation and commissioning
of new or rebuilt machine tools as required.
Assist in other areas
as directed by the Workshop Manager.
