Surfers Century Oceanside Apartments is seeking a reliable, energetic, and detail-focused Public Area Cleaner (PAC) to join our dedicated team. This is a hands‑on role responsible for maintaining the presentation, cleanliness, and safety of all public areas throughout the building. About the Role
As a Public Area Cleaner, you will be responsible for the regular cleaning, upkeep, and presentation of all shared spaces across the building. This includes outdoor recreational areas, amenities, guest facilities, walkways, carparks, and common areas. You'll work independently and as part of a supportive team to ensure the building remains spotless, welcoming, and safe for all residents and guests.
You will also be required to adhere to all building by‑laws and body corporate standards when carrying out your duties, particularly regarding safety, noise, cleaning chemicals, waste handling, and the use of common property.
Key Responsibilities
Daily tasks include:
* BBQ & Outdoor Areas: Cleaning BBQs after use, wiping furniture, emptying bins, sweeping/mopping tiled areas, ensuring BBQs and gas bottles are operational and presentable.
* Common Area Amenities: Full cleaning of toilets, showers, basins, tiles, mirrors, and associated areas; disinfecting and restocking as needed.
* Driveways, Carparks & Entrances: Litter collection, sweeping/blower‑vac work, cleaning lift lobbies, checking drains, and ensuring emergency exit stairs remain clean and functional.
* Reception, Entry Foyer & Lift Areas: Cleaning glass and frames, dusting furniture and fittings, polishing lift interiors/exteriors, vacuuming and mopping floors, and maintaining presentation standards.
* Gym & Recreation Areas: Wiping and disinfecting gym equipment, cleaning mirrors and glass, tidying the area, and maintaining floors and surfaces.
* Pool Area: Keeping the pool deck clean, arranging and cleaning pool furniture, removing litter, and ensuring the area is safe and tidy.
* General Rubbish Disposal: Collecting rubbish from levels once or twice daily depending on occupancy.
* Sauna & Tennis Court: Cleaning, disinfecting, wiping benches, sweeping court surfaces, and reporting maintenance issues.
* Residential Floor Foyers: Vacuuming all floors, cleaning glass, wiping vents and light fittings, and cleaning rubbish rooms.
Monthly duties include:
* Deep cleaning of BBQ areas, common area amenities, sauna, and pool fencing/gates.
* De‑webbing, dusting, hosing, and maintaining all accessible high‑level and outdoor public areas.

* Reliability and strong time management.
* Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning duties.
* Previous cleaning or building/strata experience is desirable but not essential.
* Must have full working rights in Australia.
* Willingness to follow body corporate by‑laws and building standards at all times .
