The company has a new management team in the corporate office looking to drive efficiencies in both operations and in reporting. With 2 open pit mines and 2 underground mines, the company is stable with strong cash reserves. This is complemented by a significant growth opportunity and development project nearing final approval.

The Role
As a mine management accountant, you will take responsibility for site financials, closely monitoring key KPI's, delivering meaningful commentary to the business and corporate. Your previous site-based experience will gain you the respect of the team immediately, and allow you to business partner with the mine GM and full site leadership team. The role is diversified and will have full P&L responsibility for the site. The role reports directly into the business and into the Finance Manager and Financial Controller within the wider Finance team.
Key duties include:
* Managing site and month-end reporting, utilising Pronto and Qlik Sense. Focus on setting and driving timetables
* Ensuring that Site Business Managers (which these roles will work very closely with) and Site Department Heads are managing costs, Capex and appropriately explaining variances in their monthly commentaries.
* Reviewing the monthly claims invoices from Mining Contractors across 2 open pits and 2 underground operations, ensuring coding is correct.
* Maintaining the models and completion of monthly accounting for ore stockpiles, deferred waste, pre-strip, underground capital development etc requiring a strong understanding of Financial Accounting re Mine Processing - Gold, Copper, Nickel etc.)
* Assisting the Financial Controller and Finance Manager with monthly board reporting, quarterly and year-end ASX reporting and liaising with the auditors
About You
Bring your mining/mining services experience to the table and be rewarded with a great opportunity to shine in a Perth-based team. You have demonstrated an ability to deliver timely and accurate financial information, along with value-added commentary in a similar setting. You will have demonstrable experience in delivering cost savings and problem-solving skills. Ideally, you have been a mine accountant with processing experience gained in gold, copper, nickel or similar commodities in order to be considered for the shortlist.
