The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Development and Approvals Manager with direct experience delivering projects through the State Significant Development Approval pathway in NSW.
You will take ownership of progressing major energy infrastructure projects through state level planning approvals, working closely with technical, regulatory and external stakeholders to secure timely outcomes.
This is not an environmental or town planning role. It is a strategic infrastructure approvals position embedded within large scale energy project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead projects through the NSW State Significant Development Approval process from initiation to determination
* Coordinate internal technical teams and external advisors to support approval documentation
* Engage with state planning authorities and key stakeholders
* Reduce reliance on external consultants by building internal approvals capability
* Identify planning risks early and implement mitigation strategies
* Support delivery of large scale energy infrastructure including BESS and grid connected assets
About You
* Demonstrated experience delivering projects through the NSW SSDA pathway
* Background in utility scale BESS ideal. Wind and Solar also okay.
* Strong understanding of state level planning frameworks including SSDA versus DA pathways
* Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical inputs
* Commercially aware with the ability to balance risk, cost and programme
* Confident stakeholder management skills across government and industry
* Full working rights in Australia with no restrictions
