These are offered in a "hybrid" format, with a combination of dedicated Fellowship and Consultancy time. I-MED Radiology is the leading provider of MSK imaging in Hobart. This combined MSK and MRI Fellowship offers a rare chance to deepen subspecialty expertise while enjoying high-volume, high-quality imaging in a stunning location. The fellowship offered includes MRI, MSK ultrasound, CT and fluoroscopy assisted intervention, including joint injections, arthrography, facet joint injections, nerve root blocks, epidural injections and myelography. You will also receive exposure to:
In-theatre experience with orthopaedic surgeons during arthroscopy, correlating MRI with surgical findings
Participation in weekly MSK multidisciplinary meetings
Project and/or research involvement
Training on wide-bore 3T and 1.5T MRI, Dual Energy CT, ultrasound and digital radiography
Exposure to the Multitom Rax Twin Robotic X-ray system, supporting advanced fluoroscopy, DSA, weight-bearing CT and full-body imaging
Access to Hobart's only private nuclear medicine service, including high-volume SPECT/CT MSK imaging
Full supervision within a supportive private hospital-based radiology team
General MRI Fellowship
Access to a large number of MRI studies acquired on 3T and 1.5T scanners
About 40% of studies are MSK and this component of the fellowship will be as for the MSK fellowship
About 40% of studies are neuro. This includes participation in a research project in neurodegenerative disorders.
The rest of the studies cover general body and gynae MRI. These will be supervised by prostate and body MRI fellowship trained radiologists.
In addition, there are opportunities to get the required supervision for CTCA and CT colonography accreditation.
