We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Noise Amelioration Plan (NAP) Program Coordinator to join our Strategy, Planning and Community team.

This role supports the development, consultation, and submission of Melbourne Airport's proposal for delivering noise amelioration, aiming to secure approval from the Federal Minister for Infrastructure by September 2026. The proposal is pioneering in Australia, designed with significant information gaps and subject to certain constraints. Success requires a Coordinator who is a quick learner, adaptable, and capable of exercising initiative.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties include, but are not limited to:


Noise Amelioration Plan (2025-2026)

* Support research and benchmarking initiatives, liaising with expert consultants to gather informative data for internal and external education
* Coordinate with internal teams for deliverables needed by NAP&P, such as the 'Noise Sharing Plan', Eastern Extension Project, and Master Plan 2027
* Work with communications and engagement teams to deliver collateral and events that effectively disseminate information about NAP&P to the public (in-person and online)
* Coordinate consultations between the Head of NAP&P and external stakeholders
* Assist in drafting and collating submissions for Ministerial approval
* Administer contracts, budgets, and reporting processes


Noise Amelioration Program (2026–2036+)

* Engage with the community and stakeholders throughout the program
* Coordinate communications with property owners/occupiers, including notifications and enquiry responses, maintaining high-quality records
* Manage communications with ineligible property owners/occupiers
* Support project teams responsible for noise attenuation in eligible properties, including private dwellings and public facilities
* Handle complaints and dispute resolution processes


Ideal candidate:

* Graduate qualification in aviation, project management, public relations, communications, or related fields
* Experience in research, critical analysis, and problem-solving
* Proven project coordination skills, managing multiple complex tasks and workstreams
* Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to public audiences
* Curiosity, confidence, optimism, tenacity, and a calm demeanor under pressure
* Aviation experience related to community effects, especially aircraft noise
* Understanding of government/stakeholder engagement and consultation processes
* Graphic design and data visualization skills, including GIS
* Experience in community outreach and engagement activities
