The role of Investment Manager is to originate, assess, and manage litigation assets. You will conduct comprehensive case assessments, collaborate with legal experts to gauge merits and risks, work with the Pricing and Structuring team to perform financial analyses, and negotiate and structure funding agreements while ensuring compliance with investment budgets. This role requires continuous monitoring of legal landscapes and effective communication of investment decisions to internal and external stakeholders, all aimed at optimizing profitability and risk profile.
Key Responsibilities
* Originate, assess, and manage litigation assets.
* Conduct comprehensive case assessments and collaborate with legal experts.
* Perform financial analyses to determine economic viability and potential returns.
* Negotiate and structure funding agreements, ensuring compliance with investment budgets.
* Continuously monitor legal landscapes and risk factors.
* Communicate investment decisions effectively to stakeholders.
Qualifications
* 4 - 10 years’ experience as a legal practitioner and/or in litigation finance.
* Self‑motivated, outcome‑focused, influential, robust, commercial, passionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Deep understanding of legal principles, litigation processes, and risk factors associated with litigation and/or litigation funding.
* Strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative investment strategies.
* Earned respect in the legal and/or litigation funding field.
* Strong negotiation skills, including in respect of funding terms and variations.
* Ability to identify and evaluate risk.
* Knowledge of the Australian courts and litigation processes.
* Computer literacy with the ability to function in an organisation that relies predominantly on electronic systems.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
* Financial training (preferred).
