As a Fitter and Turner in the Air Force, you'll manufacture, maintain and repair vital Air Force machinery. Using your critical thinking skills, you'll work across a wide range of aircraft and equipment including all-terrain vehicles, aircraft arrestor systems, refuelling equipment, hydraulic systems and weapons.
* diagnosing, servicing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical components on defence plants, aircraft arrestor systems, small arms weapons systems, heavy vehicles and aviation ground support equipment
* manufacturing tools, jigs, dies, fixtures and gauges
* repairing and modifying selected ground and aviation components
* safely operating ground and aviation fuel installations
* safely operating aircraft arrestor systems on ADF airfields and sites.

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $90,919.
Location
Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh, or have opportunities for overseas deployments.
For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have passed Year 10 English, Maths and Science (with a Physics component).
