Job Type: Part-time position, 10-15 hours per week
Location: Schwartz/Reisman Centre JCC, 9600 Bathurst Street, Maple ON (Bathurst and Rutherford Area)
Wage: $25.00-$55.00 per hour

Are you our newest Sports Instructor / Youth Strength and Conditioning Coach?
Do you want to help kids move better, play harder, and feel more confident in their bodies? We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and energetic Sports Instructor to lead engaging, high-quality recreational sports and youth fitness programming at the Schwartz/Reisman Centre. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, fosters a supportive environment, and is committed to delivering fun, safe, and age-appropriate instruction.
Sports Instructor / Strength and Conditioning Coach Job Overview:
As a Sports Instructor / Youth Strength and Conditioning Coach, you will plan and deliver recreational sports classes and foundational fitness sessions for youth ages 2–14. This role includes both sport-specific instruction and youth physical literacy development, ensuring a dynamic experience that supports movement skills, confidence, and lifelong fitness habits.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Sports Programming:
* Plan and lead multi-sport classes (e.g., basketball, soccer, flag football) that promote teamwork, coordination, fun
* Adapt programming to accommodate different skill levels, interests, and age groups
* Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Youth Strength and Conditioning
* Deliver fitness sessions focused on agility, coordination, strength, and body awareness using bodyweight, circuits, and light resistance tools
* Teach safe exercise habits, good form, and functional movement skills appropriate for youth
* Incorporate physical literacy principles and long-term athlete development models
Safety and Communication:
* Supervise participants and ensure all programming adheres to SRC safety guidelines
* Set up and take down all equipment before and after each session
* Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about participant progress and program details
* Attend team meetings and training sessions as required
Required Qualifications:
* Experience working with children and youth in a recreational, coaching, or fitness setting
* Preferred experience with ages 2–14
* Understanding of sport fundamentals, physical literacy, and youth fitness best practices
* CPR-C / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Fitness, Personal Training, Sports Coaching Certification
