Responsibilities
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on communications equipment, antennas and associated cabling/feeder systems to the Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU).
* Assist engineering teams in successfully setting up platforms, providing technical support and ensuring adherence to established procedures.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on technical maintenance and support activities, resolve requests and direct unresolved issues to appropriate channels.
* Translate complex technical information into clear, concise documentation – including post‑activity reports, completion reports, system and sub‑system specifications.
* Ensure strict adherence to approved work practices and all relevant WHS procedures, with responsibility for ESD prevention, electronic equipment handling, and safe working at heights.
* Participate in assembly, installation, test and commissioning of systems and products.
* Review and ensure activities comply with R&S and customer plans, procedures and regulations.
* Pro‑actively manage customer expectations regarding incident and service request resolutions.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Electrotechnology and Communications or equivalent qualification.
* Previous experience with repair and maintenance of communication systems, including HF, VHF, UHF Radio Systems, SATCOM Systems, Secure Voice and Cryptographic Systems.
* Experience in IT Infrastructure, including network and desktop hardware, configuration and management of software applications.
* Desirable: previous experience working within Defence and onboard Maritime Platforms.
* Eligibility to obtain Australian Citizenship and an Australian Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1.
* Eligibility to handle export‑controlled technology.
* Current, unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
* Available for short‑notice domestic travel and occasional international travel; able to support occasional work outside standard hours.
