Step Into Your Next Chapter
As Head of Department – Re‑Engagement, you will play a critical role in supporting the re‑engagement of students, strengthening school discipline, and maintaining safe, positive, and inclusive learning environments. Working collaboratively with school leadership, you will manage Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioural interventions, ensure processes align with departmental legislation and policy, and support staff, students, and families to re‑establish effective engagement with learning.
Responsibilities
* Support the re‑engagement of students through the implementation of proactive and restorative practices aligned to the Learning Together framework.
* Undertake investigations into complex behaviour incidents, ensuring natural justice, procedural fairness, and compliance with the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld) and Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
* Develop and implement behaviour support and intervention plans that address individual needs and promote sustained engagement in learning.
* Analyse student engagement data to identify patterns, inform interventions, and monitor outcomes.
* Work with staff, students, and families to restore relationships, prevent reoccurrence of behaviours, and strengthen belonging and connection to school.
