Associate Lawyer - Commercial Litigation - Professional & Financial Risks We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate with at least 2 years of PQE to join our Professional & Financial Risks team, working with Partners across various areas of Financial Lines coverage and defence.
Our Professional & Financial Risks team advises leading domestic and international insurers on high-profile and complex matters, shaping the future of financial lines litigation.

Construction-related professional indemnity matters:
Handling disputes involving engineers, architects, surveyors, and building professionals, including design and construct claims and coverage issues.
Directors and Officers Liability:
Acting for directors and officers in relation to class actions, regulatory investigations, liquidator’s claims, and proceedings commenced by ASIC and the ACCC. Advising on both coverage and defence aspects.
Coverage aspects of financial lines:
Advising local and global insurers on indemnity disputes, complex policy interpretation, and regulatory exposures across all financial lines products.
Fidelity, Crime and Financial Institutions:
Addressing fraud, employee dishonesty, financial misconduct, and compliance breaches, while advising banks, investment firms, and financial services providers on coverage and liability.
Management and Professional Liability:
Acting in claims involving mismanagement, employment practices, fiduciary duties, and defending professionals including accountants, financial planners, consultants, and tax agents against negligence claims. Also advising on coverage for statutory and regulatory investigations under management liability policies.
Large-scale and complex litigation:
Managing high-stakes, multi-party disputes involving complex liability and quantum issues, with a proactive and commercially focused approach.
Who you are
2 years’ PQE with experience in professional indemnity, general commercial litigation, coverage, or financial lines
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
A collaborative approach and a commitment to excellence
Confidence to take ownership of matters and drive them forward
A desire to grow your career in a leading insurance and risk practice
