*The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Specialist Medical Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Provide direct patient care within the Specialty Medical Unit while supporting all staff as required
Demonstrate capacity to handle an information management role
Streamline processes to optimise outcomes for patients and maintain efficiency of the service
Possess a high degree of clinical acumen including cardiac telemetry
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

About Us
Gold Coast University Hospital's Specialist Medical Unit (SMU) is a 28-bed Inpatient Unit (IPU) with Telemetry.
We provide targeted care to medical patients, many of whom live with dementia or have a delirium associated with their acute illness.
This unit provides targeted care for medical patients requiring brief hospitalisation with the ability to discharge as soon as clinical conditions are resolved. As necessity arises, we also care for long stay medical patients with complex care needs and discharge requirements.
