On behalf of our client, we are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced WHS & Training Coordinators for a position based in regional NSW.

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years’ experience in a safety and/or training role within a mining environment, preferably underground.

Responsibilities will include:

- Design, schedule & deliver training for operations teams;
- Facilitate best practice in accident and incident investigations;
- Develop and implement safety assurance activities in accordance with site annual safety assurance program;
- Oversee and deliver site inductions & direct/advice site trainers;
- Review and audit critical risk control measures;
- Coach and mentor department Health & Safety representatives;
- Assist in development of training matrix;
- Maintain department training & competency requirements & accurate record keeping;
- Track & monitor mining department performance measures;
- Conduct task observations of employees to identify competency gaps;
- Assist with safety campaigns, promotions, toolbox meetings & workshops.

To succeed in this role you be required to have the following:

- Cert IV in Assessment & Workplace Training;
- Proven background in the above role responsibilities;
- Current Senior First Aid certificate;
- Positive and effective communication skills;
- Good organisational and time management skills;
- Solid computer literacy skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft suite packages;
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
