The Role
Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Executive with a background in civil construction, infrastructure, or project-based sales. This is a hands-on, relationship-led role where you will work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, developers, and government councils across South Australia.
You will be responsible for identifying new civil and infrastructure projects, securing work, and staying connected throughout the delivery phase. You will work alongside internal engineers and delivery crews to ensure projects are scoped, communicated, and completed as promised. With in-house teams across earthworks, water, sewer, cement, and plumbing services, this is a business that delivers complete solutions without relying on external subcontractors.

Duties And Responsibilities Within The Role
This role suits someone who is equally comfortable in the boardroom and on-site. You will be the commercial face of the business, managing client relationships and leading bid opportunities, while engaging with the operations team to ensure each job runs smoothly.
* Identify and pursue new project opportunities across building, development, and government sectors
* Engage clients with tailored solutions aligned to their project goals
* Liaise with estimating and project management teams to scope and quote works
* Prepare and submit tenders, quotations, and commercial proposals
* Attend pre-starts and site walk-throughs to build trust and provide continuity
* Support smooth project handover to delivery teams with accurate communication
* Maintain regular contact with clients during delivery to ensure satisfaction
* Provide commercial reporting on pipeline health and upcoming opportunities
* Represent the business at industry functions, client meetings, and on-site reviews
* Contribute to ongoing growth strategy with insights from the field
The Ideal Candidate
You are commercially minded and well-versed in civil construction environments. You know how to build relationships based on trust and understand how to manage project opportunities from start to finish. Whether your experience is in business development, estimating, or operations, you understand the mechanics of how projects get delivered.
You'll Bring
* Minimum 3 years in civil construction, infrastructure, or land development
* Strong knowledge of earthworks, trenching, utilities, or related services
* Experience in business development, account management, or estimating
* Confidence in dealing with councils, contractors, and commercial builders
* Ability to read and interpret plans, tender documents, and scopes of work
* Strong communication skills and a grounded, client-focused mindset
* Valid drivers license and willingness to visit sites across South Australia
