The successful candidate will have relevant scientific knowledge and expertise, as well as strong leadership skills and the ability to comprehend complex material across subject matter. They will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating assessments, conducting and overseeing research, developing and reviewing content, and undertaking cross-functional collaboration and liaison with science teams and external stakeholders.

This role requires a high degree of autonomy, initiative, and self-motivation, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that works on high-profile projects and programs, including RRAP Research and Development, RRAP Pilot Deployments Program, and other projects and programs in Australia and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinating and facilitating assessments, such as coral reef intervention proposals;
* Conducting and overseeing research, synthesizing science and expert input, and producing outputs including scientific reports, talks, and publications;
* Developing and reviewing a broad range of content, preparing materials, and delivering briefings;
* Developing, coordinating, and running workshops and facilitating processes, such as expert elicitation;
* Undertaking cross-functional collaboration and liaison with science teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally including a PhD;
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to comprehend complex material across subject matter;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Extensive experience relevant to the complex risk assessments work, including ecological risk assessments and project management and coordination skills.
