The role
As our highly valued Branch Lending Specialist based in Werribee, your role will be to provide support and serve the local community as the first point of contact for our customers and their retail banking and lending needs, supporting our purpose of helping every Australian own their own home.
Responsibilities
- Build an ever-growing business network and actively promote Great Southern Bank's products and services to deliver on our Purpose and increase our target market share.
- Work as a team with Branch colleagues to serve existing customers, helping them with new lending while developing new referral networks to introduce new lending customers to your branch.
- Manage and own home loans through to completion, grow your pipeline and constantly scan for opportunities to help all Australians own their own home.
Key Impact Areas
- Leadership: Act as a senior team member in the retail network and a respected subject‐matter expert.
- Networking and Lead Generation: Promote the Great Southern Bank brand and purpose to existing and future customers through strategic networking and business development activities.
- Sales Performance: Be accountable for the day‐to‐day operations of your service, including meeting service standards and performance targets.
- Process and Operations: Maintain strong knowledge of lending and ancillary products, and adopt sales strategies aligned with the divisional business plan.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in mortgage lending/credit assessment.
- Demonstrated experience working with all banking products.
- Proven ability to network with key stakeholders and pursue leads through network activities.
- Self‐motivated, driven and results oriented with a proven ability to apply cross‐selling techniques for products and services.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer and sales focus.
- Ability to problem‐solve complex financial problems.
- Strong ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong connections with your team.
- Demonstrated exceptional stakeholder management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Financial Services Code and Acts (e.g. FSRA, Credit Union Code of Practice, Privacy Act).
- ASIC Tier 2 requirement knowledge or ability to acquire rapidly.
- Cert IV in Mortgage Brokering (desirable).
