Tyr Group is a boutique engineering consultancy specialising in process engineering for wastewater treatment, water recycling and biosolids processing.
Based in Bangalow (northern NSW) and Brisbane, our small team delivers process engineering for the planning, design, optimisation and troubleshooting of large scale treatment plants throughout Australia's eastern states.
Since 2006, we have established a reputation for thoroughness, attention to detail, and quality in all we do.
Known for technical strength and prudent innovation, Tyr Group tends to be engaged in our clients' most demanding (and often most interesting) wastewater, recycled water and biosolids treatment projects.
To maximise the technical (and minimise the administrative), we have actively resisted expansion over the last 19 years.
However, with the team now averaging more than 20 years' experience, the time has come for us to expand a little further.
To this end, we are looking for two Wastewater Process Engineers with zero to ten years' experience in wastewater treatment to join our team.
What You Will Do
You will undertake process engineering in support of a wide variety of projects in municipal wastewater treatment, recycled water production, and biosolids treatment.
The role will require you to deliver the best possible technical outcomes through treatment process analysis, modelling, design, consultation, and report development – both directly where in line with the project's needs, or in support of Tyr Group's more senior process specialists.
This will cover all phases of the project cycle, from strategic and master planning, through concept and detailed design, to support in commissioning, performance testing, optimisation and troubleshooting.
While the focus of the role is technical, you will also be involved in proposals and project management as required to bring the best solutions to fruition.
You will be part of a team which combines a focus and passion for wastewater process engineering with the flexibility (and minimisation of admin) only a small company can offer.
Qualifications
To fulfil this role, you will:
Be passionate about making a positive impact;
Preferably have a background in process engineering for municipal wastewater treatment, including site experience, and an enthusiasm to develop that knowledge further;
Be motivated to deliver technical excellence;
Possess practical problem solving, mathematical and deductive reasoning abilities;
Hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent;
Communicate technical ideas clearly and precisely – both in production of well written reports, and in the delivery of frank and fearless advice to clients;
Be flexible and adaptable to meet project needs, including some short-term travel;
Confidently engage with people from a broad range of backgrounds, and,
Be happy to be based on the NSW North Coast or Brisbane over the long term.
