Job Description:
* We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Management Officer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic across our network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and manage traffic using various control systems to ensure optimal flow on both open roads and tunnels.
2. Familiarize yourself with Automated Height Detectors, Road Management systems, CCTV, Automatic Incident Detection Systems, and other tools to effectively respond to incidents.
3. Collaborate with field staff, emergency services, and your team to swiftly respond to incidents and contain them to ensure public safety.
4. Develop and implement Incident Management and Traffic Management plans to minimize disruptions and optimize traffic flow during incidents.
5. Utilize your analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations to enhance processes and traffic management.
6. Provide real-time information on road conditions to stakeholders, the media, and customers to maintain transparency and ensure informed decision-making.
7. Maintain rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices, and procedures, including operational systems.
8. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to work across multiple assets as needed to meet business requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Experience working in a monitoring centre or operational environment, particularly in supported incident management or emergency response.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical tools, with a keen interest in new technology and systems.
* Driven, resilient, and efficient individual with confidence and professionalism in challenging situations.
* Organized, efficient, and decisive in prioritizing tasks and juggling multiple responsibilities.
* Experienced in writing incident reports and identifying essential details for seamless operation.
* Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure 24/7 coverage.
