Shark Bay Resources operates a solar salt field at Useless Loop and exports high quality salt to various overseas markets. This role is based in the World Heritage area of Shark Bay with 38 crystalliser ponds.
Life at Useless Loop:
The community of Useless Loop has a small shop, library, mess, tavern, fuel, fortnightly doctors' visits, on site MESO (Medical Emergency Services Officer) with a modern well-equipped medical centre, and a Primary School up to, and including Year 6.
Fishing and camping are common activities in the community with Shark Bay ranking as one of the most popular recreational fishing destinations in Western Australia for small boat and shore-based anglers.
This Duties:
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for the below duties as well as additional duties:
* Lead, coordinate, and monitor the mechanical maintenance team to ensure quality, safety, and scheduling requirements are achieved.
* Manage maintenance planning in collaboration with Production and the Maintenance Planner, including sourcing and ordering parts through Pronto.
* Oversee workplace safety, risk management, and compliance while maintaining accurate maintenance history records.
* Handle team administration, including timekeeping, leave, training, and performance reviews.
* Liaise with Operations and Administration to support business outcomes and efficient workflows.
* Drive continuous improvement in maintenance systems, reliability, cost efficiency, and contribute to annual budget planning.
About you:
* Proven supervisory experience in Mechanical Maintenance across both mobile and fixed plant within mining or mineral processing, including road trains, dozers, graders, bulk handling systems, and ship loading facilities.
* Strong knowledge of maintenance planning processes, statutory compliance, and long-term asset management, with the ability to analyse data and identify trends using computerised maintenance systems (Pronto or similar preferred).
* Skilled in prioritising and executing approved maintenance schedules while effectively managing contractors and teams.
* Proficient in MS Office with excellent communication skills, self-motivation, initiative, and a demonstrated commitment to safety.
