Due to growth of our Adelaide/Darwin Government & Commercial Disputes team, we are now seeking a practitioner with 4-15 years' PQE.

The Role
Due to growth of our Adelaide/Darwin Government & Commercial Disputes team, we are now seeking a dedicated Associate, Senior Associate or Special Counsel to work alongside Sophie Cleveland and her team of lawyers. You'll work on complex, high‑profile matters for government agencies and major commercial clients, including one of Australia's largest class actions. Sophie's practice is diverse and includes Native Title, racial discrimination, administrative law, regulatory disputes, investigations, and commercial litigation.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of files, work closely with an experienced partner, and develop your advocacy and advisory skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

* Working as part of a large team in a complex Federal Court class action.
* Manage a diverse portfolio of government and commercial disputes
* Draft pleadings, submissions, advices and correspondence
* Conduct legal research and prepare high quality written analysis
* Assist with investigations, inquiries, and regulatory matters
* Appear in Court and tribunals
* Liaise with government stakeholders, counsel, and external parties
* Contribute to strategic case planning and project management

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have between 4-15 years' PQE ideally in litigation, administrative law, or government advisory work. You will have strong written advocacy and analytical skills and a confident communicator with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach. You will have experience dealing with government clients, and experience with class actions matters will be highly regarded. You will be joining a busy and fast-paced team, so demonstrated experience in managing competing deadlines will be essential.
