What's the role?
As the NZ Correspondent you will report on news stories and events impacting New Zealand & the Pacific region as a video-journalist, including live reporting, packaging and text copy for Sky's website. You pitch and deliver content that is original, dynamic & engaging for the Sky News audience while managing office equipment & facilities. You will also build & foster relationships with key politicians and leaders in New Zealand.

As the NZ Correspondent you will report on news stories and events impacting New Zealand & the Pacific region as a video-journalist, including live reporting, packaging and text copy for Sky's website. You pitch and deliver content that is original, dynamic & engaging for the Sky News audience while managing office equipment & facilities. You will also build & foster relationships with key politicians and leaders in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate as a video journalist to broadcast in both a live and non-live setting Produce, write and shoot original news packages and content relevant to New Zealand and the surrounding Pacific region
* Pitch original stories and execute ideas
* Travel where required across the region to report on relevant news stories
* Write and contribute to skynews.com.au
* Regularly liaise with Sky's editorial staff in Australia to discuss coverage
* Manage the administration of the New Zealand bureau and the maintenance of its studio equipment
Who are you?
* Independence, confidence and resilience to operate independently in foreign countries and work autonomously
* Ability to operate (or learn to operate) a video journalist kit
* Ability to broadcast live and perform on camera
* Flexibility to respond and react to breaking news
* Outstanding news judgement
* Excellent time management skills and ability to withstand pressure
* Knowledge and passion for international news and current affairs
