Where you'll be working
The Social Work Department collaborates closely with the Multicultural and Refugee Health Unit to deliver vital services to refugee and multicultural communities both inpatient and outpatient. The team values learning, recognition and mutual respect, prioritises healthy work-life balance and supports one another to deliver the best care possible.
What you'll be doing
As a Level 3 Social Worker you will provide trauma-informed, person-centred care across community and inpatient settings with a primary focus on supporting the local refugee community. You will deliver holistic services to patients and families as they navigate settlement and healthcare challenges, working in a part-time role (three days per week).
About you
You are a compassionate and motivated social worker who values culturally safe, patient-centred practice. You build respectful and trusting relationships and thrive when working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams. You have a strong interest in multicultural health and are keen to strengthen your communication skills, particularly in the effective use of interpreter services.
Requirements
Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of SocialAASW).
Ability to participate in a weekend roster once every eight weeks when trained.

To be eligible for employment you must be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will be offered in line with the conditions of the visa.
