APS Level 6:
* Leading and contributing to the preparation of budget and financial management advice to portfolio Ministers, the Cabinet, Senior Executive and other Commonwealth agencies to inform Government decision-making and the approach to policy implementation.
* Effective stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills through daily engagement with stakeholders across Government and the Department (both in Australia and overseas).
* Conducting and supporting internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure adherence to legislation, frameworks, and departmental policies.
* Applying whole-of government and DFAT policy and frameworks, including to strengthen governance and accountability.
* Undertaking procurement and grant activities in compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Principles.
* Utilising SAP technology or similar products to deliver financial services and reporting, audit reporting, analytics, and data assurance.
* Applying financial workflows, delegations, audit processes, internal controls.
* Delivering travel and credit card administration services.
Executive Level 1:
* Leading the preparation of complex strategic policy, budget and financial management advice to portfolio Ministers, the Cabinet, Senior Executive and other Commonwealth agencies to inform Government decision-making and the approach to policy implementation.
* Effective stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills through daily engagement with stakeholders across Government and the Department (both in Australia and overseas).
* Assisting Government in considering Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio proposals in collaboration with the Department of Finance, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Treasury.
* Supporting the costing of policy initiatives and analysing financial estimates for portfolio programs.
* Utilising SAP technology or similar products to deliver financial services and reporting, audit reporting, analytics, and data assurance.
* Developing, implementing and improving financial workflows, delegations, audit processes, risk management and internal controls.
* Delivering travel and credit card administration services.
* Leadership and management of high-performing and high-profile teams.
* Applying whole-of government policy and frameworks.
Executive Level 2:
* Effective stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills through daily engagement with stakeholders across Government and the Department (both in Australia and overseas).
* Leading the delivery of enterprise finance systems.
* Leading the development, implementation and improvement of business processes, delegations, audit processes, risk management and internal controls.
* Leading and managing high-performing and high-profile teams.
* Applying whole-of government policy and frameworks.
Some roles will require the ability to work additional hours outside of standard hours during peak periods such as the End of Financial Year and delivering the Financial Statement. We offer overtime provisions to ensure our people are appropriately remunerated for all additional hours worked.

Eligibility
Finance and Audit Roles:
A bachelors degree or a related discipline, or qualification as a Chartered Account (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or working towards the qualification (APS6, EL1, EL2)
Procurement Roles:
Diploma/Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting (APS6, EL1)
Finance Systems Roles:
Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of IT Systems associated with budget and procurement management (EL1, EL2)
