Job Summary
The role of Safety & Sustainability Officer is to support the implementation and maintenance of a robust safety, health, environment, and quality management system across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Safety Manager and Sustainability Specialist in applying the SHEQMS across Fishermans Landing, East End Mine, and Iveragh mine sites.
* Conduct site inspections and auditing on matters related to safety, including work permits, isolations, and risk assessments.
* Manage incident systems and participate in safety, health, and environmental meetings.
* Liaise with medical practitioners, employees, and management to develop return-to-work and suitable duties plans.
* Evaluate contractor SHE management plans against Cement Australia's contractor management procedure requirements.
* Manage the site's Approved Contractor Register (ACR) and monitor compliance.
Requirements
* A Diploma in Safety, Health, or Environment is required.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a role that involved the application and use of SHE management systems is necessary.
* Cert IV in Training & Assessment is advantageous.
* Previous experience in mining/heavy industry with shutdown exposure is advantageous.
* Strong verbal, influencing, and negotiating skills are essential.
* A sound understanding and interpretation of safety legislative requirements are crucial.
* Experience in rehabilitation and suitable duties is beneficial.
* A Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator qualification or willingness to obtain is desirable.
