Fixed Term - Full Time (Cannington)
The Role
Coordinator Freedom of Information – a fixed-term position up to six months, with the possibility of extension or permanent appointment. The successful candidate will manage the Division's FOI team and report to the Team Leader Freedom of Information and Information Release. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration and a deep understanding of the Freedom of Information Act (WA) and similar legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the FOI team, setting priorities and ensuring all requests are handled efficiently and within statutory timeframes.
Interpret and apply the Freedom of Information Act (WA) and other relevant privacy and disclosure legislation.
Make defensible judgments based on factual analysis and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Implement risk strategies and maintain effective risk management processes for FOI operations.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to achieve team goals and support the broader departmental objectives.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Substantial knowledge and experience of the FOI Act (WA) or comparable legislation.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply FOI legislation in a complex environment.
Proven experience managing a high workload, setting priorities, implementing risk strategies and meeting deadlines under pressure.
Strong leadership skills and a track record of working effectively in a team setting.
