The Role
As the Program Manager Navigation Warfare you will be responsible for all phases of planning and execution of all KBR led activities within the Australian Defence Force - Joint Navigational Warfare Centre (ADF-JNWC). This includes leadership of all assigned staff to deliver contracted work, and organising, coordinating and controlling the project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the client and KBR.
You would have responsibility as the primary point of contact with the customer for all matters regarding the delivery of the program, including day to day contact and communication, focussing on winning and delivering contracted work and ensuring client satisfaction with KBR. In addition you would undertake business development activities to secure new work within the scope of the project include extensions and expansions.
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
1. Pro-active client engagement and establishment of effective communication channels at all levels within the client organisation, broader Defence, WoG and other communities of interest;
2. Leadership of staff and sub-contractors assigned to the ADF-JNWC, including Performance Management, succession planning, talent identification, mentoring and professional and career development;
3. Leadership of the Navigation Warfare business, with responsibility for budgeting, cost management, end of month financial processes and reporting, and ensuring continuing conformance with governance processes;
4. Manage the quality of outputs from Navigation Warfare team members ensuring delivery of product that enhances the perception of the KBR brand with the customer;
5. Proactive awareness of safety and business risks, and development and implementation of appropriate action plans;
6. Lead and contribute to proposals and other business development activities.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
7. Bachelor Degree (minimum) Masters/PhD (preferred) in a relevant engineering field
8. Project Management qualification or equivalent professional experience
9. Minimum 12 years’ experience within Defence capability development, navigational warfare and/or Joint C4ISREW environments
10. Experience in scheduling and controlling deliverables based projects
11. Experience managing a diverse professional services workforce
12. Experience supporting Defence operations including private sector services
13. Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement, client relationship management and communications management
14. General business skills including development and delivery of financial reports, business cases, contract management and business performance reports
15. The ability to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance NV2 (minimum) or TSPV (preferred)
