The opportunity
We're seeking two experienced Civil Designers to join our Design team at Port Stephens Council in supporting the delivery of the FY25/26 capital works program and development of future works.
As Civil Designer, you'll be utilising your skillset and prior experience in designing roadside and drainage project designs, working with our internal and external stakeholders during the design phase, and providing advice and information during construction to all parties involved, both internally and externally.
This position requires a high level of time-management, communications and design skillsets, allowing you to provide timely and accurate, detailed designs and survey specifications, executing works and documentation for projects to best industry practice.
These opportunities are contract opportunities, working for a maximum-term of 2 years.
* This is a contract opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
* Base Salary Range: $82,208 to $111,226 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $19,364 motor vehicle allowance + $2,464 retention allowance
* You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

* A Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Design or Surveying or a related field with several years of experience
* Demonstrated experience using road design software including the use of Autocad, Civil Site Design (CSD), Civil 3d and practical computer skills
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and guidelines, such as Austroads.
* Demonstrable experience in writing specifications, contract documentation, and interpreting construction drawings
