Operations Leadership Role

About the Job:

* Serve as a senior operations leader in a global industry hub.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead daily operations at a strategically located terminal, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality grain handling, storage, and loading activities.
2. Develop and implement plans to drive site performance, meeting or exceeding targets for safety, productivity, quality, customer service, and compliance.
3. Mentor and lead a team of multi-skilled professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
4. Collaborate with key stakeholders to support logistics, customer relationships, and business goals.
5. Owning safety culture on site, ensuring procedures are followed and improvements are actioned to uphold a zero-harm workplace.
6. Manage infrastructure and equipment, supporting asset maintenance programs and identifying issues before they impact operations.
7. Support seasonal operations by planning labour requirements, coordinating harvest intake, managing stock segregation, and meeting key logistics deadlines.
8. Monitor and report on KPIs, offering insights and recommending actions to improve performance.
9. Assist in initiatives, sharing ideas, participating in audits and improvement projects, and occasionally travelling to provide support.

Requirements:

* Proven leadership experience in operations, ideally within grain handling, logistics, agriculture, or a similar industry.
* Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational best practices.
* Hands-on, practical approach with the ability to lead by example.
* Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to manage teams and build relationships.
* Skilled in planning, coordinating, and prioritising tasks in a dynamic, seasonal environment.
* Confident problem-solver with sound decision-making abilities.
* Motivated, adaptable, and ready to take ownership of a key site in the supply chain.
* Tech-savvy and comfortable using operational and reporting systems.
* Certificate IV in Frontline Management (or willingness to obtain) highly regarded.
* Current driver's licence.
