A Tier 1 Mining Company is a globally recognised iron ore producer, consistently delivering large-scale operations across Western Australia and continuing to invest in greenfield exploration and long-term resource growth.
About the Role
In this role, you will provide technical hydrogeological support to drilling programs, working closely with drill crews, pump testing contractors, mine planning and dewatering teams. You will play a key role in groundwater data collection, interpretation and reporting to support resource definition and operational decision-making.
This is a FIFO position on an 8 / 6 roster, offering strong exposure to large-scale greenfield hydrogeological programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical rig supervision including production, monitoring and injection bore design
* Hydrogeological logging of drill samples to a high standard
* Supervision of drilling and pump testing contractors, including drill pod management
* Field work including groundwater sampling, well installation, site reconnaissance, water level measurements and bore census
* Pump test analysis, data interpretation and groundwater assessment
* Management of hydrogeological datasets and internal reporting
* Preparation of regulatory and technical reports
* Liaison with mine planning, dewatering and other site-based teams
About You
* Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or a related earth science discipline
* Demonstrated applied experience in hydrogeology, ideally within greenfield environments
* Experience supervising drilling, pump testing and water well contractors
* Strong understanding of greenfield hydrogeological drilling scopes and associated challenges
* Exposure to hydrogeological software such as ArcGIS, Aqtesolv, LogPlot or similar
* Strong data management, interpretation and reporting skills
* High level of safety awareness and commitment
* Effective communication, time management and stakeholder engagement skills
* Self‑motivated team player who thrives in a site‑based environment
