**About the role**:
We're looking for a **Supervising Producer** to join our **7 Tasmania News**team based in **Launceston.**You'll be a senior member of our editorial team and have the newsroom experience to step into most roles. You will be a local news junkie with strong editorial judgment whose multi-skilled background means you are equally at ease reporting in the field, assigning crews and journalists, assembling stories into a rundown, editing copy, and producing live bulletins. Reporting to the Director of News, the Supervising Producer will help manage, coach and provide guidance to news employees and perform as a member of the news management team.
**What you'll be doing**:
- Help oversee daily news production requirements.
- Produce dynamic news bulletins, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of content.
- Produce news special events.
- Story writing and editing.
- Actively contribute to editorial decisions.
- Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, team-oriented culture.
- Assist in evaluating, leading, and mentoring staff to promote peak performance and efficiency.
- Perform other supervisory and essential functions as assigned.
**Experience we're looking for**:
- A **passion for news**, with a keen eye for the issues that matter to our audience.
- **Proven experience** as a television news producer with an in-depth understanding of the production process.
- **Exceptional news judgment**, combined with strong writing and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to **multi-task** and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- **Flexibility** to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Experience **leading and collaborating** with team members and with other news leaders.
- **Bachelor's Degree** or equivalent experience.
