The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Event Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity. This is a leadership role suited to a highly organised, solutions-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is confident managing complex event operations from concept through to delivery.
You will take ownership of multiple projects, working closely with clients, suppliers, authorities and stakeholders to ensure events are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest professional standard.

With extensive industry experience, we specialise in mass participation sporting events, including all areas of operations and logistics, from event traffic management to site management. Our expertise spans event planning, compliance, operations, supplier management, risk and safety, stakeholder engagement and staffing.

Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Reporting to the Directors, while acting as the primary point of contact with clients, suppliers, local governments and our extended stakeholder network
Deliver large-scale, complex events from concept through to delivery, managing multiple projects simultaneously
Plan, manage and oversee detailed event proposals, logistics, budgets and project plans
Manage substantial event budgets, including compliance with procurement policies, financial tracking, forecasting and post-event reconciliation
Manage stakeholder engagement, compliance processes and permit approvals. Including hosting various stakeholder meetings
Manage supplier procurement, contracting and performance
Oversee traffic and hostile vehicle mitigation planning management
Lead comprehensive risk and safety management processes and documentation
Oversee event staffing structures and resource allocation (including management of a large on event workforce)
Proactively identify and resolve issues
Support, guide and mentor team members
Ensure all events meet legislative, regulatory and safety requirements
Promote the interests, reputation and goodwill of EventMatrix at all times
Comply with all Company policies and lawful directions
Perform duties diligently, honestly and professionally
Undertake additional responsibilities within your skills and competence as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Minimum 5–10 years' experience in a similar senior event management role or within the mass participation events industry, ideally involving on-road events
A qualification in Event Management, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience (desirable)
Proven experience delivering large-scale or complex public events
Strong knowledge of event compliance, risk management and safety planning
Experience with traffic management and/or hostile vehicle mitigation planning (highly regarded)
Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with local government and regulatory authorities
Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams and contractors
Exceptional organisational skills and financial acumen
Ability to work autonomously in a small business environment
A professional, ethical and solutions-focused approach
High confidence with using Microsoft Office Suite and Asana (or similar project systems)
Willingness to work outside standard hours and travel as required
