Project Manager Role Overview
As a seasoned Project Manager, you will oversee the SAP upgrade lifecycle, ensuring seamless business continuity, compliance, and performance. This strategic role demands exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and prior SAP migration expertise.
Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of the SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA upgrade focused on finance processes (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Treasury, Controlling).
* Act as the bridge between finance leadership, internal teams, and the external implementation partner.
* Collaborate closely with the CFO, Finance SMEs, and IT to define, document, and deliver business requirements aligned to financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk registers.
* Ensure system design supports statutory compliance requirements.
* Oversee data migration and validation, ensuring financial data integrity and historical continuity.
* Drive testing efforts including scenario development, UAT coordination, and issue resolution.
* Support change management, communication and training activities specific to finance users and leadership.
* Report project performance and health (status, financial impact, progress against milestones, risks and issues) to governance boards and executive leadership.
* Ensure strong governance and project controls, transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years of experience managing ERP projects, with a strong track record of SAP upgrade or implementation initiatives in the finance domain.
* In-depth understanding of finance functions and accounting principles within SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
* Strong vendor management skills, ideally with exposure to Tier 1 SAP implementation partners.
* Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial data migrations and system reconciliations.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in translating technical concepts into business language.
