The Role and the Team
As a Sales Engineer you will be a trusted advisor to both Account Managers and current and future customers. You will act as a technical liaison and subject matter expert on all things Proofpoint, helping deliver People‐Centric solutions that protect against today's cyber threats. Your role includes product demonstrations, white‐boarding sessions, mini‐trainings, lunch‐n‐learns, proof‐of‐concepts, and production evaluations, all aimed at providing a solution that you can take pride in.

* Sales Engineer based in Sydney or Melbourne.
* Collaborate closely with sales team members to deliver solutions.
* Act as the technical point of contact for customers throughout the sales cycle.
* Design complex email and data security solutions.
* Assist with professional services deployments, technical training, industry seminars, and trade shows as needed.
* Provide customer insight to product, marketing, and product development teams.
* Become an expert in Email Security Gateways, Advanced Persistent Threats, Cyber Kill Chain, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and emerging attack techniques.
Your Day‐to‐Day
* Engage with customers, presenting compelling stories and solutions.
* Develop and deliver product demonstrations and proof‐of‐concepts.
* Work closely with sales to secure and close deals.
* Share customer feedback with internal teams.
* Maintain deep technical knowledge of email security platforms.
What You Bring to the Team
* Impressive experience in secure messaging, data security, or another cyber‐security field.
* Strong knowledge of enterprise email solutions such as O365, Gmail, and Exchange, including SMTP; experience with security awareness programs is a bonus.
* Understanding of Directory Services.
* Knowledge of networking protocols (SMTP, LDAP, HTTP, etc.).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Passion for helping people solve problems.
* Enthusiastic drive and strong personal initiative.
* Preferred but not mandatory: a degree or equivalent education in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
