About the Role
We are seeking a Chef to support daily kitchen operations. The role involves preparing and cooking menu items, managing a section during service, and maintaining consistency in food quality and presentation.
You will work as part of a kitchen team, contributing to smooth service delivery and adherence to established kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook seafood and other menu items in accordance with recipes and service standards
* Manage a kitchen section during service and ensure timely food output
* Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating
* Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
* Monitor food quality and adherence to recipes
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory control
* Minimise food wastage and support efficient kitchen operations
* Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain workflow during service
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
Skills & Experience
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a related qualification
* Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant full-time work experience
* Experience with seafood preparation preferred
* Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Strong attention to detail and consistency
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Good time management and organisational skills
