Recreational Activities Officer

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at Bracken House Hostel in our Western Region.

You will make a difference to our residents by facilitating positive health and wellbeing options for individuals, their families, and carers.


Key Responsibilities

* Plan, organise, and lead activities for our residents that meet social and recreational needs while promoting independence and increasing quality of life.
* Assess and document the effectiveness of programs by tracking residents' progress and making changes as needed.
* Facilitate mental health and wellbeing programs that empower residents' choices and independence.


Requirements

* Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle
* Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
* Previous experience within an aged care setting
* Highly developed organisation and time management skills
* Ability to solve problems independently
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
* Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, internet/intranet skills, email communication, and confidence with smartphones and digital devices
* Knowledge of Work Health and Safety
