About the Role
Are you a "Jack or Jill of all trades" who loves solving problems? MOM Darwin is looking for a versatile, energetic Maintenance Allrounder to join our team.
In a busy hostel environment, things move fast. One day you'll be fixing a leaky tap or patching drywall; the next, you might be checking AC units or helping set up for a guest event. We need someone who is proactive, handy with a toolkit, and doesn't mind a bit of variety in their workday.
Key Responsibilities
* General Repairs: Handling basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and plastering tasks.
* Preventative Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections of rooms, communal areas, and equipment to catch issues before they arise.
* Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring the exterior, pool area, and communal spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming.
* HVAC Care: Basic servicing and cleaning of air conditioning units (essential for the Darwin climate).
* Vendor Liaison: Coordinating with external contractors for specialised electrical or structural work when needed.
What We're Looking For
* The "Handyperson" Skillset: Proven experience in general maintenance or a trade background.
* Problem Solvers: You see a broken hinge and fix it before anyone has to ask.
* Communication: You'll be working around guests and staff, so a friendly, professional attitude is a must.
* Reliability: You are punctual, organized, and can manage a "to-do" list without constant supervision.
* Local Knowledge: Comfort working in Darwin's tropical conditions and an understanding of local building wear-and-tear.
* Valid Driver's License: Essential for parts runs and site logistics.
