Culinary Expert Wanted
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at Southern Highlands Private Hospital.
Main Responsibilities:
* Food Preparation and Handling: Ensure the safe storage, preparation, and handling of food in our kitchen environment.
* Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook high-quality meals for patients with varying dietary requirements.
* Patient Dietary Requirements: Understand and cater to diverse patient needs, including allergies and sensitivities.
* Maintain a Clean Environment: Ensure all kitchen areas are clean, well-organized, and meet health and safety standards.
* Equipment Maintenance: Regularly wash, clean, and maintain equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
* Log Sheets: Accurately complete daily food and safety log sheets as required.
* Compliance & HACCP: Adhere to food safety guidelines and best practices outlined in our HACCP plan.
* Inventory Management: Order and manage food and supply inventory efficiently.
* Stock Rotation: Implement effective stock rotation procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Requirements:
* Certificate in Commercial Cooking: Possess a valid certificate in commercial cooking or equivalent experience.
* Experience: A minimum of 12 months' experience as a Chef or in a related culinary role.
* Dietary Adaptability: Demonstrate ability to cater to a wide range of sensitive dietary requirements.
* Allergy Management: Have a thorough understanding of allergy management practices and protocols.
* Work Ethic & Teamwork: Display excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Cultural Competence: Be able to work comfortably in a multicultural and diverse workplace.
