About the role and team
This role is part of our Core Banking Platform Crew within Retail Technology.
We are responsible for Core Banking Platform maintaining highly scalable and resilient systems that support our retail and business customers as part of their everyday needs, driving innovation, improving customer engagement and creating new business opportunities through partnerships, ventures and the Group's digital ecosystem.
The role
We are looking to hire a Staff Platform Engineer to develop and deliver the vision for our SAP Core Banking System on HANA and Cloud Modernisation transformation within the Core Banking Platform Crew in Retail Technology.
This high availability, modernised platform powers many critical elements of the customer experience for our products.
Qualifications
Is an expert at the Full Cycle Implementation and Cloud transformation model, where engineers are involved in Design, Build, Change, and Run.
Has a passion for designing, developing, deploying and running high quality modern solutions.
Contributes to a culture where quality, inclusiveness and excellence are championed.
Lead efforts to embed security best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows.
Act as a technical mentor and thought leader for platform engineering standards and architecture.
Performs security assessments across platform components.
Has a natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence various stakeholder groups including high level executives.
Tech Skills
SAP HANA Skills: Core SAP HANA Administration with deep knowledge on HANA Architecture and hands-on experience in SAP HANA High Availability and DR, HSR Replication Setup, HANA revision and patch upgrades, Installations, Table partition, Scale-up and Scale-out architecture for OLAP, Table redistribution, Performance tuning and dump analysis, Backup / recovery through backint and file systems, Point in time recovery of logs, log shipping, Failover and Failover through Cluster (preferably PaceMaker).
SAP Skills: SAP Basis and technical administration of SAP systems, parameter changes, kernel upgrades, Support pack upgrades.
Monitor and optimize the performance of SAP HANA databases, including SQL performance tuning and adjusting system parameters.
Oversee database activities such as data loading, table management, and data archiving – Experience in Data Custodian would be advantageous.
AWS Services: Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, VPC, Route 53, Cloudwatch, FSx ONTAP.
SSLs: Experience with SAP, HANA, AWS SSL certificates including management and design.
Container technologies: Deep knowledge of RHEL (Red Hat Linux) systems and Pacemaker cluster.
Scripting: Experience in automation and scripting (Bash, Python).
IaC Tools: Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Ansible and Terraform.
Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub and GitHub Actions.
Monitoring & Observability: Expertise in tools like Solution Manager, Wily, Grafana, Prometheus.
ITIL – ServiceNow – Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Capacity Management.
