About the Role:
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in leading financial reporting, compliance, and analysis functions. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation and analysis of financial statements, as well as supporting the wider finance team and executive leadership.
About You:
You are a proactive and analytical finance professional with a strong foundation in financial reporting and compliance. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain complex financial concepts clearly. With 5-10 years' experience in a senior accounting or financial management role, you have developed a solid understanding of AASB/IFRS, tax compliance, and audit processes. Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, or similar ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills are essential. Additionally, demonstrated experience in mentoring or supervising finance staff is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with AASB and IFRS standards.
* Deliver end-of-month management reports, including journals, prepayments, accruals, payroll entries, and investment transactions.
* Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register, including depreciation and disposals.
* Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and other regulatory requirements.
* Support the CFO with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
* Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
* Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and insurance brokers.
* Provide backup support for payroll and assist with accounts payable and intercompany transactions.
* Deliver high-quality financial advice to internal stakeholders and maintain strong external relationships.
